Director of Plant Operations
It was a pretty typical interview process. Started with an initial HRBP screening, then I met with the VP of Ops, did a facility tour, and finished with another interview with the VP of HR. All the meetings were good and on time. The questions they asked were pretty standard and open-ended. The recruiter gave me good feedback after each step, but in the end, he said something I mentioned didn't sit right with them and that's why they went with other candidates.
- Tell me about how you've handled challenging individuals.
- What would be your approach to difficult scenarios?

Plant Front Office Role
Applied via LinkedIn, got contacted 2 weeks later. Took another 2 weeks for an HR Manager phone screen. Then, 2 more weeks for a phone interview with a corporate person. Positive feedback led to another call with a different corporate person, scheduled 2 weeks later. A few weeks after that, HR set up a call with plant leadership, which went well and led to an onsite interview with plant management, scheduled 3 weeks later (no travel as I'm local). Post-onsite, waited a few weeks for a follow-up interview at the plant, which also went well. A few days later, HR said they were still interviewing and would respond in a week. No response after that week, so I emailed HR again. No response after another week. I then reached out to the plant leader directly, still no response. Communication from HR was very slow (2-3 weeks between contacts) and unprofessional, stopping communication after multiple interviews and no quick update on their decision.
- What are your standard interview questions regarding plant operations?
Account Manager
I had a good first call with the recruiter, and I felt I was a strong candidate because my experience seemed to align well with the role. The recruiter seemed to think so too and said she'd move my application forward. I sent a thank-you email the next day and followed up a week later about the status. She then informed me that they weren't moving forward with my application. I asked for feedback on why, as I thought we had a good rapport and some constructive criticism would be helpful. I never heard back, which was disappointing given her initial genuine demeanor. I've seen many of their positions open since then, and I felt ghosted and disrespected by the recruiter.
- Can you discuss supply chain management and any adversities within the industry?
Sales
I had a great interview with their recruiter and was told that they wanted to get me in front of the hiring manager as soon as possible. I was actually told to expect a call either by the end of that day or the next day to schedule my next interview. I followed-up with the recruiter and started preparing for the next step. Unfortunately, I was totally ghosted after that initial interview. I totally understand if I'm not a perfect fit for the company or if they have other candidates with more relevant experience. However, I don't understand a recruiter LYING to me and then going radio silent. If you're not interested then just tell a candidate "Thanks for your time. We will be reaching out to you soon with next steps." Don't tell them that you definitely want them talking to the hiring manager just to ghost them after that statement. Totally unprofessional.
