First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Welk Resort Group.
Referral Owner Liaison
I went through several interviews and they even gave me an offer. But then, the day before I was supposed to start, they took back the offer because of a hiring freeze. It was weird because I saw a bunch of ads for other jobs at Welk Resorts. A month later, they're looking for an Owner Education Manager and using my ideas. If you're thinking about working there, be careful. They make promises and act like they want to hire you, you turn down other jobs, and then they screw you over right before you start.
- How did you find out about this job opening?
Corporate Counsel
I applied online and got an email a few days later for a phone interview with the Sr. Corporate Counsel. The phone call went well, and I sent over some writing samples. A few days after that, we set up an in-person interview with a group of attorneys. However, the day before the in-person interview, I got an email saying they'd decided to move forward with a different candidate.
- Can you describe your current role and a typical day?
- Are you able to provide a writing sample?
- What's your experience with litigation?
Director
The hiring process was a bit lengthy and included several phone calls and in-person interviews, which is expected for this type of position. Initially, there was a delay in getting responses after the first phone call, suggesting the interviewer was quite busy.
- Would you be able to ignore facts and comply with the GM's orders if instructed?
- Even if you had all the facts supporting the victim in an internal investigation, could you still represent the company in a forward-thinking manner?
Vice President
The interview process was a great panel interview. The questions were thoughtful and handled in an organized way. The panel included my potential boss, peers, and subordinates. After that, I had one-on-one follow-up interviews with leaders from other departments I'd work with closely.
- Can you describe a situation where you handled a particular challenge, or how you would approach one?
