Employer Branding Specialist
The recruiter for the company contacted me on LinkedIn, and we set up a call. She gave me an overview of the company and the position, and described the specific qualities they were looking for. The call was really nice and relaxed, and she was able to answer all my questions. She gave a thoughtful and honest answer even when I asked about potential challenges in the role. I got a negative response in the end, but they were respectful and provided helpful details, and the process was fast and efficient. I really appreciated how professional the recruiter was.
- Could you tell me about your relevant experience for this role?
- Have you worked with external media and journalists before?
Software Engineer
It started with a recruiter chat, and scheduling was super easy with them. Then there were 4 technical interviews, mostly with folks working on filesystems in Boston and Israel, and one person who deals with networking/protocols from California. After that, I had an interview with the Hiring Manager, which included a technical part, some behavioral questions, and a discussion about the role specifics. The manager was really open about the job and how they lead, which was a good sign. Finally, there was offer negotiation, where the recruiter was helpful in reaching a package that worked for both sides.
- If you have storage experience, be ready for some low-level coding and high-level design questions.
Technical Account Manager
The interview process involved several rounds. The initial conversation was quite informal, focusing on your interest in the company and the role, and sharing the salary range. It served to ensure mutual fit. Subsequent interviews were more direct, featuring technical questions or scenarios about how you'd handle work situations. These were good opportunities to ask about the company, and the interviewers were approachable and provided genuine answers. The final interview, though brief, was critical. You needed to articulate your strengths, passions, and demonstrate your technical knowledge.
- Could you describe WEKA?
Senior QA Automation Engineer
The interview process was fast, and the technical interview went well. The offer was also in line with expectations. However, there were red flags throughout. The HR person was pushy and combative, though trying to be pleasant. A Zoom interview with a founder was unprofessional. One hiring manager was unavailable for a brief chat about the role, and another seemed hesitant when asked about professional growth opportunities. It felt like people were primarily motivated by salary and likely to leave for better offers.
- There were 2 questions asked, with difficulty ranging from easy to mid-level. If you're sharp on these, you'll be fine.
