The interview process was fairly easy. You'll interview with two or three people, who are usually superiors or BCBAs. They typically get back to you fairly quickly if they want to offer you the position. It's a pretty straightforward process overall. They usually show you around the center during the interview too.

Applied online and got a call a few days later to set up a panel interview. It was 6 candidates, an HR recruiter, and one of the home supervisors. They asked 6 questions, mostly 'what would you do' type stuff. Got called a couple days later to set up an interview with the home supervisor and therapist, just me and those two. More of the same kind of questions. This group home decided not to hire me, so I was called about a week later to set up another 2-on-1 with the supervisors from another group home. Then I took an assessment on a computer in the HR office that took 30-45 minutes. After this they started reference checks, which was difficult because my former employer wouldn't give them anything, even with a signed release. About two weeks after the third interview, I got a call from the recruiter saying the next step would be a 15-20 minute phone interview. I don't know if they finally got my references or if this is an interview they do when they can't get a reference. Either way, this is the 4th interview in what has been a month long process for a part time, weekend only job with marginal pay. Because I have a number of other jobs "in process" I don't know that I'll accept this job even if it's offered.

The online application had some bugs, especially in the experience section, where I had to spend a lot of time trying to fix it with FAQs and retries. HR confirmed the app sometimes glitches. Then, there was an onsite quiz with questions about drug use and anger, which felt mismatched for an office support role, and HR admitted they need a new quiz. After that, a 'panel interview' turned out to be a group interview with multiple applicants present simultaneously, which was unusual and unprofessional. A skills test was collected before the interview and never discussed, which was a missed opportunity to talk about my thought process. The job title 'Coordinator' was misleading, as it involved doing multiple jobs like writing, design, and social media management, rather than coordinating a team. The overall process felt disorganized, with unclear terminology and a surprising approach to interviewing.

The first interview will have 5-6 people. Dress nicely, but remember it's a job working with children, so nice pants (not jeans) and a nice shirt or blouse. They will ask everyone questions. Be yourself and be honest. Try to answer differently but accurately. Be ready for questions about how you'd handle a child who won't go to bed, is about to jump out a window, or refuses medication.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • What would you do if a kid is going to cut themselves?
