First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wedgewood Weddings.
Marketing
I talked to a team member who was really nice and gave me a good feel for the company. While I wasn't totally sure about the company because the wedding industry is new to me, by the end of the chat, I could really picture myself there.
- Can you tell me about your skills and abilities?
Banquet Server
The interview process was fast and simple. The GM was really nice and gave a lot of info, and seemed excited to build a good team. They explained all the job duties clearly, so there were no surprises. The job itself is very physically demanding, but it's a great team. The Sales Team was also very welcoming.
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
Catering Event Manager
They had 3 interviews in total. First, there was a phone screen, then an in person meeting with the General Manager, and finally a call with the Regional Director. You also chat with another Event Manager there to go over what their typical day and experiences are like. If you make it through all the interviews, you'll take a Wonderlic test covering general knowledge and your skills in Excel and Microsoft Office.
- What are your strategies for managing stress?
- How do you maintain organization in your work?
- Can you describe your approach to dealing with challenging clients?
Event Coordinator
I had a phone interview that was then brought into the location for an inhouse interview. I did not get the job as they went with someone else but was encouraged to watch for future openings and apply. After reading the reviews which were not good from former employees I decided to pass, and did notice three weeks after they hired someone they were looking for someone again, so the reviews of being overworked and extremely high turnover seemed to be trudge.
- What is your availability for weekend and evening work?
