First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Webull Financial.
Client Service Associate
It was a pretty straightforward process, with standard interview questions about your background and why you're interested in Webull. They also talked about the company's background and culture. There were three rounds in total.
- What made you decide to apply to Webull?
- What is your understanding of Webull?
- Could you share some details about your background?
Data Engineer
It started with a screening call, then there were two technical rounds and a behavioral round. The technical rounds had a lot of SQL and Python questions, and the behavioral round focused on situation-based questions from my past experiences.
- Can you explain SQL join conditions?
- What are subqueries?
- What are CTEs (Common Table Expressions)?
Director
I was initially contacted by HR on LinkedIn about a role that seemed more junior than my experience. HR assured me they could consider me for an Associate Director or Director level, given my extensive experience and subject matter expertise. I successfully completed the first interview with the Director of Compliance. Following that, I proceeded to the second and final round with the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO). The CCO seemed impressed and indicated they intended to hire me at the Director level. However, when I followed up with HR, despite all their earlier assurances, the offered salary was for the Associate role.
- Could you share specific instances where you implemented controls for regulatory reporting, using the STAR method?
Data Strategy Analyst
The interview process was really bad, the interviewers were not professional. The interviewer didn't even say hello or introduce herself, she just asked me to introduce myself. She looked down the whole time I was answering, and I could tell she was on her phone talking to others. During the live zoom coding, she didn't interact with me at all and made a lot of noise. When I said goodbye and wished her well, she immediately left the zoom call. This whole interview was annoying and I felt disrespected. Also, the job description was misleading as it didn't mention data science or machine learning requirements, but then they asked a lot of data science questions. If the role is really data science-focused, the base salary is way too low compared to the market. I'm not recommending this company to anyone, it's a waste of time.
- Tell me about yourself.
- Can you explain data science algorithms?
- How would you use SQL, specifically joins and group by?
