Claims Examiner
I got contacted by a recruiter a few days after applying for the role. Even though I applied for a remote job, the recruiter told me it was on-site only. After my phone screening, I had an in-person interview that was a panel with five people. Three were on Teams, but only one asked questions, which made it feel like a quiz. They didn't ask any STAR method questions. Turns out, the role was for a different claims examiner position (Voluntary Claims Examiner) than what I applied for. Total bait and switch, so watch out!
- Can you explain what 'pre-existing' means in this context?
Claims Examiner
I was first contacted on LinkedIn by a very high-ranking person at the company about a job opening. A couple days later, we had a 30-minute Teams meeting where we discussed the company, job duties, my past work, and future aspirations. They then suggested I meet with several people, but first, I had to do a virtual video interview through hirevue. This involved recording answers to about 5 questions and completing two "games" to assess attention to detail and intelligence. About 3-4 days after that, I had a 45-minute panel Teams interview with four people, which went well. A few days later, I was asked to schedule another interview with the hiring managers. This was a Teams meeting a few days after that. The very high-ranking person was on the call but off-camera, one hiring manager was on-camera with a negative expression, and the other hiring manager was off-camera. This interview felt more like a quiz, with the off-camera hiring manager questioning my responses with "ooook??" sounds. It was a very cold 15-minute interview. A week later, I received a suggestion for a different position in another state, which also happened to be a claims examiner role. I found this whole experience to be a joke, a waste of my time with false hope.

Utilization Review Specialist
The interview process was amazing. The recruiter Dan was very friendly and welcoming over the phone. I had a second interview in person with a panel of 3 people. The atmosphere was professional and the managers were knowledgeable about the company. I felt comfortable discussing my work history, work ethics, and experiences handling past conflicts. They answered my questions and I was given a tour. Dan followed up, which showed he cared about my opinion. This seems like a great company with an upscale professional vibe.
- How do you approach workplace conflict?
Eligibility Coordinator
First I spoke to HR over the phone, going over basic company info and questions. The second round was with the eligibility manager herself, going over resume and previous experience. The third round was with the eligibility manager along with director of operations and two finance managers who asked more work ethic and personality questions. I received a job offer less than a week later.
