Full Stack Developer
I got an invite from Indeed.com for a phone screen. I spoke with them and gave my skills background. Next they sent me a link to take a PHP test. The test was to create a MySQL database with the data they've provided. Create a PHP page and analyze the data. Then there's multiple questions based on the result. The test was easy which took about an hour. You must set it up on your local server. I passed the test and they invited me for an in-person interview with. The interview was more than an hour. They asked a lot of questions (in details). I thought the interview went well. I answered all the questions and felt I fit the position. They asked me when I would be available and I said 1 month. They seemed concerned on the start date but I explained to them I have to train my 2 developers. I didn't hear from them after 2 weeks so I followed up letting them know that I'm ready to make a move. It seemed like they liked me but they never replied to my email. That same week I got another Indeed.com invite from the same person for a phone screen. I assumed they wanted me come in for a 3rd interview. They never replied to me.
- What's your salary range?
PHP Developer
First, they will conduct a phone screening interview. If you pass that, you'll be given an online technical assessment with two parts: HTML/CSS and PHP/MySQL. You'll have 60 minutes for the first part and 90 minutes for the second. The test wasn't too hard, actually quite easy. After that, they'll call you for an in-person interview which has two stages. They will ask questions based on your resume. No tricky questions asked.
- What made you decide to apply to this particular company?
Project Manager
They reached out to me and asked me to apply for the position. After following up several times via email I was finally contacted for a phone screen. Basic questions from HR and then a request for project portfolio. I was told it would be forwarded on to the hiring manager and I would hear back the next week. I had to follow up again a couple times to finally receive a canned response 2 weeks later that they could not offer a position at this time but would keep my resume on file for 1 year. As they initiated the process I thought I could've been treated a little more respectfully.
- Can you describe your experience?
Web Developer
Had a quick chat with HR, then a basic skills test, followed by an in-person interview. They seemed really interested after the interview and said I'd hear back in a few days, but it took them weeks to send an email saying I was rejected. They never replied to any of my calls or emails asking for an update. I put in a lot of effort preparing, taking the assessment, and traveling for the interview, and they couldn't even give me a timely response or return my calls for weeks. Really unprofessional.
