First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Web Courseworks.
Software Developer
It was a tough technical interview. A lot of theoretical questions, followed by some simple pseudo-code problems. You should prepare well for it. There might be a take-home assignment. I'm not sure what else to add. The interviewers were a bit awkward to talk to.
- Can you do a Fermi estimate?
Customer Support Specialist
I got an email asking for a phone interview with the Support Manager. Then, I had an on-site interview with the Support Manager, Senior Support Specialist, and VP of Operations. It was a 45-minute interview. They asked about my experience, hobbies, and interests. They also gave me a short QA test where I had to look at a file directory and explain how I would test its functionality.
- What activities do you enjoy in your free time?
- Could you tell me about your hobbies and interests?
- Describe how you would test or determine the functionality of a given file directory.
Support Specialist
I spoke with a support specialist and a project manager. The CEO also popped in to ask a few questions. Everyone was really nice and we got along well. They seemed eager to fill the role, and I was keen to show them why I'd be a great fit.
- What makes you want to switch career paths?
Accountant
The interview process started with a phone call with the intern. The VP of Finance and IT was meant to join but couldn't due to IT issues. Then, I received a spreadsheet with two tests to complete and submit. These tests were fairly simple. Afterward, I had an in-person interview with the VP and another department member (not the intern). About two weeks later, I was offered the position. The entire hiring process lasted about a month.
- How proficient are you in Excel?
