I gave my resume to Weaver at our university job fair in September and got an email about 4 weeks later to schedule a phone interview. The phone interview was pretty straightforward. The interviewer was very friendly and asked me about my future plans, graduation timeline, and when I intended to take the CPA exam. She mentioned I would hear back within a week about an in-office interview. Unfortunately, I didn't hear back from Weaver until about two and a half weeks later, so I called them. They then informed me they wanted to schedule an office interview and were proactive in ensuring everything was set up. The in-office interview was interesting; I was supposed to meet with three individuals but ended up speaking with associate managers. They mainly asked questions about my resume and future plans, nothing unusual. I wasn't sure about getting an offer because a friend who interviewed earlier knew a partner, but thankfully, they offered me the internship. I'm set to start in Spring 2015. While I'd prefer to intern at a Big 4 firm, Weaver is the largest firm here in the Permian Basin, so I'm excited about this opportunity. I really enjoyed the firm's atmosphere and hospitality. The interview process was entirely virtual and I thought it went pretty well. I got positive feedback and was really impressed with the company. However, the end was really disappointing. The person I was talking to the most offered me a job, but then later they changed their mind and passed me off to someone else. That new person told me I didn't get the offer after all, just 'thanks anyway.'
