WCG Interview Questions
& Process

I went through two rounds of interviews for this role. The questions were pretty straightforward, nothing unexpected. It seemed like a collaborative environment from the interview process. Having good questions prepared for the interviewers was key to steering the conversation productively and keeping things on track. The initial phone screen was very basic, offering a good opportunity to touch on the points mentioned in the job description.

The interview process started with a phone screen from a Group Director. Then, there were three more in-person interviews. I was told it was a special opportunity, but later found out the Group Director I spoke with initially was fired. The overall experience was a bait and switch, with the role and team not as described. HR seemed incompetent. I had to reschedule a personal trip despite having requested the time off beforehand. A VP promised work they didn't understand, leading to fake urgency and high stress. There's a perceived 'boys club' at the executive level.

First, there was a phone screening with an HR recruiter from New York. Then, I went in for an in-person interview which consisted of meeting with the hiring manager, two co-workers on the team, and then two more co-workers that I would be working with directly. This was followed by a presentation. Honestly, there was a lot of waiting around. It seemed like the team had scheduled things during my interview time, so the hiring manager and I only talked for about 7 minutes before she had to step out for a phone conference. I waited quite a while before the next people came in to see me. After that, I had to wait again for the next group of people to come in. Then, there was another wait for my presentation because everyone was on calls. I had a final chat with the hiring manager after the presentation, and that concluded the interviews. I heard back the following week.

I got reached out to about a week after I applied by an HR person. We had a phone interview, and then I was immediately asked to come on site. I met with 3 people in 1.5 hours. They were all really nice and knew their stuff, which made it a pretty good overall experience. Even though I didn't think my skills were a perfect fit for the job after learning more, I at least thought I'd get some kind of update from HR about my application status. Apparently, that was too much to ask. I sent a follow-up email two weeks after the onsite interviews and never heard back. Since I took time off work to come in for the interview, I expected the basic courtesy of being updated on a decision. It left a really bad taste in my mouth, despite the positive experience meeting the team.
