The interview process took over two months to complete. After I gave my final presentation, I had to wait 2-3 weeks for them to make a decision because they were still considering other candidates, including internal ones. The steps were: a first call with HR, then a first call with the VP of Sales, followed by a 60-minute online meeting where I presented a detailed 90-day plan, and finally a 30-minute online meeting with the CRO. This process is pretty standard for enterprise, strategic, and global sales jobs in the software industry. The call with the chief sales leader was normal, he didn't seem to have looked at my resume or LinkedIn, which was a bummer because I was hoping we'd get to know each other and how we could work together. I heard great things about the VP of Sales from other former employees and was really looking forward to working with him and the team. So, just know your value and have other options.

An outsourced company I worked with suggested me for this role. I interviewed with the Head of Partnerships in the Netherlands. Even though they gave positive feedback during the interview, the Head of talent rejected me the next day. I've been following this company for a while and know other qualified candidates who were also rejected. It also seems like they've been hiring for this same position for a long time. I wonder if they're struggling to find good talent or if they're just extremely selective about finding the perfect fit. Who knows... Maybe they have the wrong people making the hiring decisions.

First I chatted with HR to confirm the details on my resume and set up an interview with the department manager. The manager interview was over zoom, it felt like a nice chat and we went through some interview prompts. It lasted about an hour but didn't feel like it. They asked why I was switching industries, why data analysis, and to go over my past experiences. Two days later, I got a call for a second interview with a senior data engineer and a data analyst II from the team. This one was a bit tougher, the senior engineer really dug into my past projects. We talked about technologies I've used, how I'd check data accuracy, and my SQL skills. It was pretty much what I expected, but they were friendly, which was great. Both interviews were about getting to know my past experience, who I am now, and how I think. Two days after that, they let me know they wanted to hire me, and the next day they extended an offer. Hope this helps :)

I got contacted on LinkedIn by a recruiter. The next week, I had a quick virtual technical meeting with a manager. They wanted to see if I could find pricing on an e-commerce site and use regex scripting on the HTML source. I hadn't used regex before, but the interviewer was helpful and explained things. This part was to see how I handle tech and scripting. After that, I was invited onsite to interview with the team and their manager, and then the VP of Operations. It was nice chatting with them, and the vibe was friendly and relaxed. The interview felt like a good preview of the job. They seemed like a good team. My interview wasn't planned for 2 hours, but I talked with team members about processes, ideas for improvement, and just got to know them. Time flew by. Sadly, I didn't get an offer from PriceSpider. I enjoyed the interview though and hope for future opportunities.
