First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at WayUp.
Customer Success Manager
I had 2 phone screens, 2 in-person interviews, and 1 remote interview. The first phone screen was with HR, and it was pretty standard and easy. The second phone screen was with the hiring manager, which was a good chance to learn more about the role and the team. Since I wasn't actively looking to leave my current job, I wanted to be sure it was the right opportunity. This screen helped me decide if it was worth taking time off from my current job to move forward. The first in-person interview was 2 hours long but was split into 4 half-hour segments with different people, making the time fly by. I interviewed with potential teammates and the hiring manager. The next in-person interview was with the CEO, and it was the toughest because she asked really insightful questions about my career goals. Normally, the CEO interview would have been the last one, but the hiring manager asked if I could do one more interview where I presented a performance deck to her. She wanted to ensure we were a good mutual fit, which I appreciated. The whole process took about a month, mainly due to my travel schedule and lack of flexibility.

Customer Success Manager
I talked to a recruiter who was professional, but things got weird with the CEO. I researched the CEO and WayUp to stand out. The CEO seemed disheveled and said she only had 20 minutes for our 30-minute call. She didn't even remember an article she was in, which was disappointing because I prepared and had questions. I got a generic email saying they moved on, with no feedback. It was strange not to get feedback from a company focused on career advice. I was excited but realized WayUp needs better leadership.
- What was the most recent book you finished?
Customer Success Manager
Communication was fast at every step. Started with an HR screener, then a supervisor/manager interview, and the last one was with members of the CSM team and the CFO. The CFO seemed to have pre-judged my background and I had to convince them to support me. After that, I didn't feel like a good cultural fit for WayUp, and I guess they felt the same.
- Can you describe your background in sales?
