We had a Zoom meeting one on one with the PI. The interview took about 45 minutes. We started with some small talk. Then they asked me about my previous experiences and research, and shared interests. After that, we talked more about what the current role would be like and what an average week would look like, and if that's something I'd be interested in.

Applied on the university website with my resume. Recruiter reached out a few days later to schedule a phone interview. The lab manager gave me a call, and two days after that, I was invited for an in-person interview with the lab team and the professor overseeing the research program. The interview went well, covering my background and skills. The following week, the professor offered me the position.
