An email was sent out to all students at Wayne State University by the EEE department. I replied with my resume and cover letter to the professor, who then scheduled a meeting. During the meeting, he asked me some questions about MATLAB. I answered them, and he was happy with my response and offered me the job. He then sent an email with the professor I'd be reporting to looped in.

It was an easy interview via Zoom. The staff were very friendly and made me feel welcome. Even though it's a small team, they did a good job explaining what they expect. They asked about my personal goals and hobbies, and were curious about my studies and how I could use that knowledge in the job.
