Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wayne State College.
Admissions Coordinator
The interview process was fine. The people interviewing especially in this department were very incompetent, but nobody can ask much. I was asked very basic questions, had to give a presentation, but again this office is incompetent and they proved it.
- What is customer service?
Navigator
You start with an online application, and then there's an in-person interview. Before the main interview, you'll meet with a current navigator. They'll hang out with you until the panel is ready. It's a good idea to chat with them. The panel includes the navigator President, VP, and the campus visit coordinator for Admissions.
- Why did you choose Wayne State?
Assistant Professor
I got an email from HR with instructions and a plan to teach a section of a book. After teaching, I had several meetings with people in the department and that was it. I never heard any feedback after the interview!
- Tell me about your teaching abilities.
Resident Assistant
So I had a few rounds of interviews. First, there was a group interview, then a one-on-one interview, and then the final interview.
- If you were a shampoo, what kind would you be?
