Software Development Engineer
We started with an online assessment to test problem-solving and coding skills, then went on to a coding round for a practical challenge. After that, there was a technical interview for deeper dives into knowledge and problem-solving, and finally, an HR interview to check personality, cultural fit, and communication.

So the interview process at Quizizz for Senior Software Engineer was pretty intense, with 5 rounds total. It kicked off with a phone screen call. Then, there was a technical screen where they checked my DSA skills (medium level) and also some low-level design stuff, using a vending machine example. The onsite part was tough too, but organized. First onsite was more DSA, they gave me a rainwater trapping problem but with a twist to handle leaks. Second onsite was all about high-level design, asking me to design parts of Twitter and how recommendations work. Third onsite was focused on low-level design, like building a movie ticket booking system. The interviewers were professional and clear about what they wanted. Quizizz also covered travel and hotel for the onsite part, which was nice. It was a challenging process but gave a good overview of what the job needs.
- Tell me about the rainwater trapping problem with modifications, and how you'd approach it.
- Can you walk me through a high-level design for Twitter, including its recommendation system?
- Describe your low-level design for a vending machine.
Software Engineer
This was one of the best interview experiences I had. Shout out to HR Madhur, who was super helpful and gave me a lot of info about the company and career growth, and answered all my questions on the call. The first round was a tech interview focusing on core JavaScript concepts. They're really serious about this, taking every detail into account before moving to the next stage. After that, I was invited onsite for the remaining 4 rounds: Machine Coding (framework-agnostic), HLD, LLD, and a Hiring Manager (HM) round. All the interviewers onsite were really nice and supportive. It felt more like a technical discussion and problem-solving session on a whiteboard, a lot of brainstorming. The HM round was great; I felt like I had a really productive conversation, going deep into my experience. HR gave me individual feedback for each round, which was awesome. The final round was with the HR Director, which gave me a good vibe about the company culture and their vision. Overall, a unique experience. They are very selective in hiring and have some brilliant people working there. The office space looked pretty cool too.
- Can you explain promises and the event loop in detail?
- Can you solve some tricky output-based questions?
- Can you write polyfills?
