First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at WayForward Technologies.
3D Artist
the interview was super friendly and straightforward. they showed me around the company, like the different departments and stuff. we talked about the pay and benefits I'd be getting, and also about the work-life culture. they were just making sure we'd be a good fit for each other.
- What are you hoping to find in a company?
- Can you walk me through some of your past work?
- What was your process for creating the work you've presented?
3D Character Animator
it was a pretty smooth and fast interview process over skype, lasting about 35 minutes max. i had done some freelance work for them before, then relocated to california for this full-time gig. the interview and the art test kind of blended together. once they felt i was a competent animator and a good fit for the team, they flew me out for the next stage.
- standard stuff
3D Environment Artist
We started with a tour of the company, checking out the different departments. It felt pretty open and friendly. I even got to meet one of the founders. Afterwards, we sat down to review my portfolio and chat about the kind of projects I'd be involved in. Then, we moved to a private room to discuss salary and benefits.
- As someone who primarily works in Maya, were you asked if you were willing to learn 3Ds Max for this job?
Quality Assurance Engineer
They asked me about video games I've played and if I've ever spotted bugs that went unnoticed. They also wanted to know about my attention to detail, especially with tiny things. And if I'm alright with playing the same game over and over.
- How often do you play video games?
