Senior Team Lead
The interview process was straightforward, involving three rounds with leaders and managers. The onboarding phase was seamless. Everyone involved was professional and supportive, and both the onshore and offshore team leaders were friendly and helpful throughout.
- Can you describe your past experience and the roles you've held?
Director of Business Development
The process was super disorganized. I had two Zoom meetings, then an on-site interview that I had to pay for and arrange myself (still waiting for reimbursement). The interviewer I was supposed to meet actually no-showed, so another leader stepped in. They then asked me to make another trip because the original leader wanted to meet me. I had to chase them for dates multiple times with no response. After three weeks, I got a generic email saying I was no longer being considered. Then, another week later, the initial manager contacted me asking for references.
- What makes you want to join WAY?
Software Engineer
My initial phone screen focused on my background and experience, asking about projects on my resume. The interviewer was super friendly and answered all my questions about the company and culture. A few days later, I went for an on-site interview in Fremont. It was a group panel of 3 people. They asked to see work samples, and one interviewer threw in some analytical and algorithm questions. All the questions were pretty straightforward. The interviewers were really nice throughout. They were also clear about what they're looking for in a candidate, mentioning they want leaders who love tackling tough problems, which is exactly me. I got the offer the next day and took it right away.
- Can you present the outcomes of a complex problem you've tackled?
- Describe how you would devise an algorithm for a complex game you select, considering its various parameters.
Engineering Manager
It was 3 rounds of interviews R1: Head of Engineering R2: Mobile Tech Lead R3: Head of HR After the final HR discussion round, got a call after a week asking for documents. Then the ghosting phase started and on any follow ups, was getting the response like, they are yet to finalize. HR team should at-least inform the candidates who have spent so much time for them about the result, even if it is negative.
- Tell me about your team management skills.
- How would you allocate resources to different projects that are not in the plan?
- How do you motivate team members to put in extra efforts?
