Technical Coding

It was a 1-hour technical phone interview focusing on Python basics and OOP concepts. The interview went well, and I was offered a position the next day. It wasn't too difficult. Since the company seems to be acquired, the interview process might be different now.

  • Can you describe the concepts of class, object, inheritance, and polymorphism?

Behavioral Technical

The HR person mentioned they're trying to hire more women for the software team in Manila. I had a technical interview with two male engineers. One of them asked me why I wasn't smiling and suggested I should smile more. I found this a bit inappropriate and potentially sexist, as I've never heard a male candidate asked to smile more. I haven't heard back from them since the interview, and they didn't even send a rejection notice.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • A basic question about C++.
  • Why weren't you smiling?
  • You ought to smile more.

The first step was a phone screen where I was asked about my experience and some basic UVM stuff. After passing that, I had a 4-person on-site interview. They had me code in assembly, write driver code for AHB protocol, talk about monitor-scoreboard connectivity, and UVM phases.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • Can you write the driver code for AHB protocol?
