First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Watlow Electric Manufacturing.
Rotational Engineer
I talked to some engineers at Watlow's booth at a college job fair, and then HR called me to set up an on-campus interview. That interview had two engineers ask about my past experience. After that, I was invited to a 'Career day' at their main factory in Richmond, IL. The night before, there was a social event at a restaurant to hang out with employees and other candidates. Career day started with breakfast, an intro, and then four rounds of interviews with behavior-based questions. Each round had two people from Watlow, could be engineers or HR. We also got a tour of the plant. The event was really well organized and everyone was friendly, it felt welcoming.
- Tell me about a situation where you had to persuade a teammate who had wrong information.
Engineer
Watlow did on campus interviews. In my interview they had another engineer from another facility on the phone which was awkward because you don't get the cues that someone is about to say something so we kept interrupting each other. I was asked to attend a plant visit for a career day where there were 4 rounds of interviews with two Watlow employees asking behavioral based questions.
- Tell me about a time you learned a new skill or knowledge successfully, and a time you struggled to learn something new.
- Describe an instance where you excelled at acquiring a new skill or knowledge, and conversely, a time you found it challenging to learn something new.
Engineer
The interview process was quite lengthy. It involved three separate group sessions, each with two interviewers. While they had a set list of questions, the conversations felt natural. The majority of the questions were about past situations and experiences.
- Can you share an instance where you motivated your team?
