First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Waterworks.
Showroom Manager
The interview process included three rounds. They flew me out to their headquarters on the east coast, where I interviewed with multiple people throughout the day. They provided transportation, picking me up in a car, and arranged a hotel for me.
- Can you describe your management style?
Project Coordinator
I interviewed with Waterworks for a Project Coordinator role, having previously applied for a Client Service Representative position and not received an offer due to lacking 'luxury call center experience.' The Corporate Recruiter contacted me about the Project Coordinator opening, and after I received the job description, we scheduled an interview. The interview went well but was brief. Two weeks later, I got an email saying I didn't get the job. I asked for specific reasons why but haven't heard back, which I found unprofessional, especially since they reached out to me for this role. They emphasized high customer service during the interviews, which contrasts with my experience trying to get information after the rejection.
- Can you describe your ideal job?
General Manager
The whole thing took 7 weeks. It started with 5 phone/Zoom interviews, then I flew to CT for in-person interviews where I met 7 people. After that, I had 2 more phone/Zoom interviews back home. The in-person part was super smooth, thanks to the HR rep who booked everything perfectly and kept my schedule efficient. Everything started and ended on time. It was a long process, and it takes a lot of effort from both sides, but it was totally worth it. Every person I met and conversation I had helped me understand the company and them understand me. It’s great that Waterworks has so many long-term employees, especially in sales – the ratio is impressive and a big reason I was interested. Sometimes people think a bad interview means they weren't the right fit, but the process can stop at any point if it's not a match for either side. I think this thorough vetting is why they keep employees for so long. I came out of it knowing it was the right place for me, and the experience was great.
- What will you do in your first 90 days?
Sales Consultant
It was a pretty long process. It started with a phone call, then I went to the store twice for in-person interviews, and then I interviewed with some of the current employees. Honestly, I didn't get why I had to meet/interview with employees since it didn't seem related to my ability to sell their product or develop my own client base.
- Do you have prior experience selling luxury items?
- What's your approach to developing a client base?
- Have you previously been responsible for meeting sales targets?
