First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Waterfield Technologies.
Software Engineer
The whole hiring process took a bit of time from when it started to when I finally accepted the job. It's pretty much like all the other tech companies out there these days. I'd say you should probably expect at least a couple of months to go by from the first interview until you get the offer to accept.
- How would you fix problems x, y, and z?
- What are your thoughts on how to resolve issues like x, y, and z?
Consultant
It was a really chill and informal interview process. The interviewer asked good questions about my skills and how I work, and didn't ask those typical 'where do you see yourself in five years' type questions. They were happy to answer all my questions and were really open about everything. Overall, it was a great experience.
- What's your approach to managing a high-profile client who has escalated issues to the COO?
Software Developer
I started with a recruiter chat, then had a 30-minute screening call with the person who makes the final hiring decision. After that, there was a writing assignment, followed by a 60-minute 'technical' interview with three team members. Then, I had to complete a programming project, and finally, another 60-minute interview with the decision maker.
- The 'technical' interview mostly involved questions about my experience with different technologies.
- The programming task was to build a task management app in Node.js, specifically focusing on how to implement a recurring task system, not necessarily the whole app.
