UI/UX Designer
This interview took place a few years back, and I'm hoping things have improved since then because it was the absolute worst interview experience of my career. I was supposed to meet with two leads, but neither of them even bothered to stand up to greet me when I arrived. One of them actually yawned in my face without covering their mouth while I was speaking. Both of them were incredibly rude, seemed completely bored, and were just going through the motions, like they didn't want to be there or had already decided I wasn't worth their time. Their attitude really set the tone the moment I walked in; there was this undeniable sense of apathy. As soon as I left the room, they both started laughing, which was extremely unprofessional, especially coming from senior staff. I've never experienced anything like it and wouldn't recommend this company to anyone unless they fired everyone and started fresh.
- Could you walk me through your typical workflow?
- What projects have you been involved in?
- Can you share details about your previous work experiences?
Organizational Development Advisor
The interview was relaxed but thorough, and I got to ask my own questions at the end. They gave me a lot of info about the job, team, and how it fits in. But, the overall experience wasn't great. They rushed me through the selection process the same day as the interview because they seemed really eager to hire me (I even turned down another offer based on this). I did the right-to-work forms, drug/alcohol test, and reference checks. Then, they told me an internal review was happening and they weren't hiring anyone new. It felt unprofessional and disorganized, and they didn't seem to consider the time and effort people put into applying. Even though they have good benefits and the team seemed great, I'd be wary of applying there again.
- What are your specific skills for this role?
- Tell me about how you would handle hypothetical situations.
Data Analyst
Interviews are formal talks between someone interviewing and someone interviewing for a job, to see if the person interviewing is qualified, skilled, experienced, and a good fit for the role. Interviews can be done in person, over the phone, on video, or in groups. They usually involve questions to check the candidate's abilities, knowledge, and personality. Doing well in interviews means being prepared, communicating well, being confident, and showing off your relevant experiences and successes. After the interview, it's normal to send a thank-you note or email.
- Can you elaborate on your experience with Power BI?
- How do you approach data analysis tasks?
Graduate Engineer
So for the intern role, you send in your application online, then there's some easy online tests, and then a solo interview. If you pass that, you go to assessment centres which include a presentation, team building stuff, and then an interview with the hiring manager. For the graduate role, it's kinda like the intern but you apply internally for a grad position and then have one interview with a bunch of engineers and project managers. They expect you to know way more for this one. I actually turned down the grad position after I got the offer.
- What are some general interview questions you might ask?
- How advanced should a graduate candidate's knowledge be?
