First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wasatch IT.
IT Help Desk Technician
First, a 10 minute chat about the company and yourself. Then, an IQ test with 40 questions in 12 minutes and another 20 questions in 6 minutes to see how you handle pressure. If you do well, you'll have an in person interview.
- Can you tell me about yourself, both personally and professionally?
IT Help Desk
First there was a video interview, and if that went well, we moved on to an in-person interview. It felt a bit more formal than they let on, but I guess that's typical for interviews.
- They asked a sort of trick question where they presented a scenario and seemed to lead me towards a specific answer, but the real answer was about teamwork.
- Can you describe a situation where collaboration was key to solving a problem?
- How would you approach a user experiencing a technical difficulty?
Helpdesk Technician
The whole interview process flew by in just over a week. I applied at the start of the week, then a few days later, I had to do a personality quiz. On Thursday, they called me and set up an interview for the following Wednesday. The interview itself involved them asking me about myself and how I thought I could fit in, even without any prior IT experience. They also asked a bunch of regular questions after that. The very next day, I got a call to schedule a second interview, which happened over Skype that Friday.
- How would you manage your workload under stressful conditions?
Help Desk Technician
I had a video interview where I joined after setup. They asked me about my previous jobs and my reasons for applying. We also discussed the role itself, why the position became available, and the starting salary.
- Can you describe your experience in the industry?
- Tell me about your previous work experiences.
