First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Warner Bros..
Software Engineer
There were 4 rounds of interviews, each about an hour long. Then a coding test. Some interviews seemed like they just wanted to get to know you, while others had technical questions. The technical questions were good, starting with some basic C++ questions in the first interview and moving to more design questions in the second, which was refreshing. They said they were interested and would send the coding test, but I got tired of following up and ended up being ghosted. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time here.
- Can you design the Mario game?
Software Engineer
Got a take-home assignment first. After they looked at my homework, I had an interview. It was 1h30min long. The first hour was a technical whiteboard session with two interviewers. Then, 30 minutes with HR. The technical part covered Math, software, and hardware because they have different departments. They want to figure out the best fit for me. The HR part was chill, just personal questions and asking which departments I'd prefer.
- Can you explain Memory paging?
Software Engineer
My interview process was pretty straightforward: basic algorithms test, basic design patterns test, basic problem solving test, and basic personality test. The algorithms test was pretty simple: find the largest number in an array. The design patterns test was also pretty simple: design a class architecture for a card game. The problem solving test involved talking through how you troubleshoot a 'real-life' problem that could happen in a production environment. Officially, there was no personality test, but the director who ultimately hired me did ask a lot of soft questions relating to my personal history and how I approach people. A word of caution for those preparing for a Warner Brother's interview: don't expect your interview to be this simple. I've treated interviewee's much more harshly, and so have some of my co-workers.
