First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wantable.
Marketing
First, an HR screen, which was super chill and covered my work background. Then, a couple of Zoom chats with the team I'd be joining. It was a good vibe all around. The whole thing took about two weeks.
- Tell me about your e-commerce background.
- Can you provide examples of your work in e-commerce?
- Could you show me your portfolio?
Personal Stylist
I had a virtual interview scheduled with a recruiter, but it got canceled less than an hour before. It felt unprofessional since I prepped a lot, and I didn't get a reason. The recruiter rescheduled twice, and even though I was hesitant, I gave it another shot. The interview itself was with three team members who seemed unprepared and disengaged, even showing up in loungewear. After the interview, there was no follow-up.
- Given an outfit, explain which customer it would best complement.
Front End Developer
The interviewer was disengaged and seemed annoyed throughout the entire phone call. I was polite and thanked him for the call at the end, but he abruptly hung up without a word. I've been thinking about what I said, but it felt like the tone was off from the start. Maybe he was just having a bad day, but it was pretty rude and unprofessional. HR sent a nice email the next day saying I wasn't the right fit, which I get and appreciate, but after that call, I don't think I would have taken the job anyway.
- Do you have CSS/SASS knowledge?
- Can you tell me about your background?
- What motivates you to pursue a career in Web Development?
Content Role
I applied on a Sunday night and the next day I got an email asking to set up an interview with HR. Five minutes in, she said she didn't think my experience was a good fit. I was confused why I was scheduled in the first place since my resume was clear. I'd be cautious applying here. It seems like no one actually reviewed my resume before scheduling, which was unprofessional and a waste of my time. She could have at least used the interview time to learn more about my background and skills in case other roles were a fit.
- Can you share what kind of work you are seeking and what drew you to Wantable?
