Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Walt Disney Company.
Senior Recruiter
The process was really great and everyone involved was super professional and organized. They conducted three interviews in total. It was a really streamlined process, and they were always consistent with communication and updates.
- Can you describe how you provide support to internal customers?
Talent Acquisition Coordinator
The recruiter was easy to talk to and things moved fast. The hiring manager was cool and talked a lot about how the team works and what they need. But, it wasn't super clear how the role itself works. This coordinator would help out 4-5 recruiters, and each of them has like 15-20 jobs open. So, this person would need to be adaptable and kinda figure things out on their own with not a ton of guidance. It was fuzzy on how work gets prioritized or what kind of help is available. They used phrases like "be a sponge" and "figure it out," which might be okay if you like not having everything laid out, but could be hard without a good intro to the job. My advice: ask about how priorities get handled with all the different recruiters, what the onboarding is like, and how you'll know if you're doing well early on. Seems like this job is better for someone who likes to jump in and build the structure themselves.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
- How do you manage keeping multiple stakeholders updated on scheduling and progress?
- What software or tools do you typically use to manage communications and updates?
Senior Recruiter
I was contacted by the HR Manager for the area, and it took them 15 days to schedule the interview. The interview itself was pleasant and interesting. She mentioned that a healthy number of searches is around 12, but they handle between 15 and 18. This makes you imagine that you'd be burned out after 4 months. They never give feedback again. They told me I could write to her on LinkedIn or email about other positions, but even though I sent messages, I never got a response. No feedback, nothing. Nice pictures with the team and nice benefits, but it doesn't speak well of the culture and climate starting from the selection process. I wouldn't risk a place like that.
- General questions for a Recruiter about their day-to-day, processes, and stakeholders.
- Part of the interview in English (tough questions here, very open-ended) but I don't see it as bad if the position requires it.
