After a second round of interviews, I was ghosted by a recruiter and then received an automated rejection email two weeks later. The interview itself wasn't too difficult and seemed well-aligned with my experience and skills.

Candidates check in and wait in a hotel cafe that was set up as an interview spot. Depending on unique situations, they might be called up in groups of one to three. I was called up alone, which might not be as good as it sounds since the groups of 3 got contracts to sign almost immediately. The interviewer covered the job duties: selling merchandise, stocking shelves, and rotating positions every hour and a half. They also went over the working conditions, which can range from being indoors with crowds to outdoors in the summer heat, at any time according to a schedule. Breaks are given, but otherwise, a merchandiser must stand the entire shift. Training is provided. Then I was asked to introduce myself in English and briefly about my Mandarin and Cantonese abilities. They asked about my hobbies and if I had any questions for them. I asked about 3 questions. They thanked me for coming, shook my hand, and then guided me out. They mentioned that if I didn't hear back in 4-6 weeks, I should consider myself not selected for the position.

I applied on the Disney website back in mid-December, and then I heard back in late January about an assessment day happening in mid-February. The assessment day itself was pretty long, but it was also fun and I felt like I learned a lot. There were about 30 of us, and we all had to get a 3-minute PowerPoint presentation ready beforehand. After we all presented, we had to do five tests: one on Excel, a math test, an analytical reasoning test, a problem-solving test, and an attention to detail test. Then, there was a 'networking' session where we could chat with current interns and the managers of the research department, which was really interesting. After that, we did a group activity, and the day wrapped up with interviews.
