It was a really quick process, I had the job offer in under 3 weeks. It wasn't the easiest, though, there were some really tough tests and they also gave me some learning assignments and a research task. It was very interesting and direct. Unlike big companies, they didn't give me weird psych tests or put me in a small room for 30 minutes to decide if I'd sign. Wallethub gave me a full week to decide!

I applied online and a recruiter got back to me quickly. Then I got an online test that I had to finish and send back within 4 hours. I wasn't sure if I should take the test at first because it's 4 hours long. I ended up not passing the test (excel functions) and it was a waste of 4 hours. It's not super hard, but the excel part was a bit tricky for me since I'm not that familiar with excel, and the test is just really long. I think the company should consider a shorter test. I'm sure they could come up with a 30-minute test like other companies.

Technical

Had an email interview for a remote SEO Analyst role. The process involved a take-home test that apparently other candidates have also encountered. This test included tasks like using basic Excel functions, proofreading some text for grammatical errors, and researching information from various bank websites, specifically about interest rates and mortgages, which was a bit outside my direct experience as I'm not from the US. Interestingly, none of the tasks directly related to SEO.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Perform basic Excel functions
  • Correct grammar mistakes in provided paragraphs
  • Gather information (e.g., interest rates, mortgages) from several banks' websites
