Special Education Teacher
Lots of questions about your teaching experience, how you manage behavior, and your reasons for wanting to be in this field. They asked how you'd handle students who are escalated and if that's something you could manage.
- Can you share some classroom behavior management techniques you've used, detailing both successful and unsuccessful ones?
Clinician
I sent in my resume and then had a phone call screen. After that, I had a Zoom interview with two supervisors. They were really interested in my specific experience and the unique point of view I could bring, especially as an educator and mental health provider. We talked about some of my previous jobs and how I might handle certain situations. They also had me work through some practice vignettes and gave me feedback on how I would respond in a real therapy session.
- Tell me about your previous positions and what you consider your strongest clinical skills.
- Describe how you would handle a specific conflict situation.
- What unique perspective can you offer as an educator and mental health provider, based on your past roles?
Special Education Teacher
First I was asked about my teaching experiences. Then we talked about why I chose to be a teacher and what drives me. After that, there were more formal questions about how I would handle specific situations.
- If a student was misbehaving in class and wouldn't leave when asked, how would you handle it?
Human Resources Assistant
Applied, then had a phone interview, followed by an in-person interview, and then got an offer. They took a really long time to respond, even though they said they'd call back in a few days. I sent a bunch of emails and made calls, and then they rejected me via email a few weeks later.
- What are your thoughts on teamwork?
