Had 2 interviews. First was with HR over the phone for a prescreen. Then I interviewed with the supervisor at the location. They asked general questions about my experience and gave me a lot of information about the job. It wasn't a very technical interview, mostly behavioral questions and based on my experience in the field.

Got to talk about my past work experiences. They asked me questions about handling a fast-paced, high-stress work environment, linking it to my background. Teamwork and communication were big focuses. I was told to prepare some questions to ask them. They clarified they wouldn't be asking about eating disorders.

Applied online. Had an initial phone screen, then a 30-minute in-person interview with two clinicians. They said I'd hear back by Monday or Tuesday, but I got a call on Friday to come in for a 3-hour shadow shift. I shadowed a current MHC for a few hours, including meals and a DBT session. I followed up with the hiring manager and was told I'd hear back by the end of the next week. No word the following week, so I called on Friday and was promised to hear from HR on Monday. I never did. I get that HR can be busy, but being delayed and disregarded three times really leaves a bad impression. If this is how the place is run, I think I dodged a bullet.

The interview process was pretty standard, with two rounds happening within a couple of weeks, which I really liked because they were so quick. First, I met with the supervisor, and then for the second round, I met with the whole team and even got to shadow some of their rounds. It was great that I also had a chance to chat with some staff members without supervisors around, and they seemed really happy with their jobs. After that, I spoke with HR about benefits and the salary range. I ended up turning down the job before they made an offer or decided not to hire me because I got a better offer elsewhere. The salary range they mentioned from Walden's HR person was also lower than I expected. If they had offered something closer to what the other place was offering, I definitely would have taken the job, but I just couldn't accept such a low salary.
