Wakefield Research Interview Questions
& Process

So, the first step was this super quick phone screening, maybe 10 minutes tops, just to see if I had the basics down. Then, they had me come in for an in-person interview. They gave me a little test to check my computer and grammar skills. After that, I met with a senior staff member for an in-person chat. I didn't end up getting the job, but the process was okay, I guess. It would have been better if the interviewer hadn't just vanished for half an hour after I finished the exam. I even asked a few people, and nobody knew where she went, which kind of soured the experience, but hey, overall, not too bad.

I applied online and then they emailed me for a phone interview to ask about my availability. The questions were standard - why you want to work there, past work experience, etc. The next day I got an email to do a proofreading test and then I was offered an intern position.

A recruiter from the research department contacted me via email and wanted to do a phone interview. The call lasted five minutes. She read the job description, asked me to talk about myself, and then stated the salary. She asked if that was okay, and I said I wanted to talk more about the job and qualifications before discussing wages. She wasn't sure if the salary was negotiable and said I'd hear back about an in-person interview. She didn't ask if I had questions. I never heard back, even after following up, but it's for the best.

After a lot of back and forth about whether or not there was even a position available, I spoke with the two owners of Wakefield on consecutive days about six weeks ago. Since then, I haven't heard anything from them, and I've sent two follow-ups (one to HR and one to an owner). For the record, their unprofessional silence began long before Covid-19 became widespread in the U.S.
