First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Waitrose.

It was a quick and easy process with only 3 questions. The stuff they asked was engaging and made me feel comfortable. They asked a variety of general questions, and the interviewer asked about my experience and background.
- How would your past experience prepare you for this position?
Partner
It started with an online personality test which took about 30 mins, you really need to answer it with a team-first, empathetic approach to pass. If you pass that, you'll move on to a group assessment. I was in a group of 5, though 2 didn't show up. The back end of the store was quite run down. The assessment itself was just the 3 of us discussing 5 customer scenarios for 20 mins. After that, there was a short 10 min interview, where they didn't even ask for my passport.
- Could you explain your understanding of the Waitrose shared ownership scheme?
- What aspect of working at Waitrose appeals to you the most?
- Describe a time you provided customer service that went above and beyond.
Partner
The interview was conducted online, starting with a 10-minute phone call. This was followed by a 20-minute Microsoft Teams call. The final stage was a 30-minute in-person interview conducted at the store, with both the store manager and branch leader present.
- Tell me about a time you went above and beyond in customer service.
- How do you approach situations by considering the broader implications and long-term effects?
