The head engineer looked over my resume and asked very few technical questions. They were late to the interview. They also wanted to see my GPA. The head engineer didn't seem to have a software background, but HR was very responsive.

The process kicked off with a 30-minute HR chat, followed by a phone interview with a staff member. Then, another Zoom interview with a staff member happened. After that, there was a timed writing task. Finally, Mary Wagstaff called with the offer. Everyone I met was really nice and friendly.

I interviewed for an editorial role. They asked me about my writing process, my interests in food and travel and beverages. I met with the editorial director and the office manager. Both were very nice. The interview was at their office, which is conveniently located right off the Chicago brown line stop.
