First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wachtell Lipton.
Paralegal
i send in a cover letter from the firm's website. the firm responded to schedule an interview, which was one fit interview that described why i would be a good fit for the job, what were my strengths and weaknesses. then, i asked what the main functions of the job would be. i understood it would be a lot of work, and i was asked if i was prepared for that.
- What are your strengths?
Corporate Paralegal
I found the job opening on the company's website and then got a call about an interview in New York. The official interview was pretty short, maybe 20 min, and the coordinator had some of the paralegals introduce themselves. But then there was this other, more casual part that went on for about an hour, so it ended up being way longer than I thought it would be.
- Can you describe your experience working as part of a team?
- Could you share an instance where you dealt with stress or pressure?
Corporate Paralegal
Had one interview, about an hour long, with the current and former paralegal managers. It felt conversational, mostly a fit interview. If they like you, they can move fast—I waited a few weeks after applying, but then got a verbal offer just hours after my interview.
- Can you explain your interest in WLRK?
- What draws you to this particular paralegal position?
- Describe an instance where you demonstrated resilience or grit.
