Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wärtsilä.
Field Service Engineer
They're looking for people who have experience and are keen to learn. You really need to know about diesel/gas power plants to get selected. Since they don't have a training program right now, prior experience is super important to get in. They do offer good on-the-job training, plus classroom and practical sessions with experienced trainers from their Vaasa and Turku training centers.
- Do you have hands-on experience with diesel engines?
Field Service Engineer
The interview process included online interviews and then a face-to-face interview for the second round. After the face-to-face, they took me for a tour of the company premises. HR contacted me and will follow up if I am shortlisted.
- What motivates you to join Wartsila?

It was a great and informative interview process. I had two separate interviews where I spoke with multiple members of the Wartsila team. They asked questions that really got me thinking. Overall, it was a great experience.
