It started with an intro with HR and the Engineering Manager. The first question was about what I knew about W.L Gore, I mentioned their values and how I align with them. Then, the manager asked me to walk through my resume and explain a specific graduation project in detail, focusing on Design of Experiment. After that, they asked some random questions about people and tech skills like teamwork vs. individual work, new product introduction vs. sustaining work, my strengths, and areas for improvement. This part took about 20 minutes. Then I got to ask questions about the role: 1) it's a new position, 2) it's for an endovascular product in pre-development, 3) the team has 7-8 engineers plus an extended team of 10, they need help with feasibility testing, setting up instruments, and sampling plans, 4) they are in early stages but expect discoveries, 5) flexibility and team support are the best parts of working at W.L. Gore. HR said they'd get back to my recruiter by Wednesday. Key takeaways: it's team-based, culture fit is crucial, and the interview was fast-paced.

My first chat was a phone screen in mid-January 2011 with HR and the Hiring Manager. About a month later, they invited me to Flagstaff for an in-person interview. This involved two panel interviews, one with 4 people and another with 5, all from different teams I would potentially work with. Both groups asked pretty much the same things: mainly behavioral questions and some basic technical stuff. It wasn't too tough. Everyone on the panels was really nice and made me feel at ease, so it was pretty low-stress.

I applied online and heard back in about a week for a phone screen with a process engineer. They asked about my resume and probed my problem-solving skills. After that, I was invited for an on-site interview which lasted 3 hours. The first hour involved a chat with a process engineer and a tour of the facility.
