Technical Behavioral Presentation

So, the interview has two parts. First, you'll come to our office for a design assessment. HR gives a quick intro, then the Design Manager and Design Lead will look at your portfolio and give you a whiteboard exercise. It's about 2-3 hours, and HR will chat with you about salary expectations at the end. The second round is a chat with the Design Director in Hong Kong, where they'll ask about tough professional situations you've dealt with and how you handled them.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Can you explain the motivations behind your design decisions?
  • Could you elaborate on why you opted against a more standard design method?
  • Describe a past professional challenge and your approach to overcoming it.

Coding Technical System Design Behavioral

First, there was an online test that included a coding test and questions on basic concepts like evaluating time complexity. Then, an onsite interview involved a system design question, perhaps a bit simpler than what you'd see at FANG, and a discussion about the projects on your resume.

  • Solve a coding problem like Leetcode's Valid Parentheses.
  • There was a coding question about easy dynamic programming.

Behavioral Technical

I found the Marketing Specialist position on Indeed and applied. The process involved two interviews: an initial phone screening and a subsequent 45-minute conversation with my potential manager. Both the HR representative and the manager were great to talk to, and the interviews felt like casual chats with questions ranging from easy to average difficulty. However, my positive experience with Vyond ended there. I was told I'd hear back about advancing to the next stage within a few days. A week passed without any word, so I emailed HR for an update. I received no reply whatsoever. Despite being promised an update, I never got one, and my follow-up email was completely ignored. Even a simple message saying I wasn't a fit would have been better than being ghosted after two interviews. This handling of candidates who've invested time and effort is really unprofessional and frankly, immature. It seems like a common practice here, based on other reviews. They just don't bother to inform you if you're not the right match.

Behavioral Other

This was a really long and drawn-out interview process, honestly a ridiculous experience. It was actually two separate experiences that showed Vyond isn't really interested in hiring people or being respectful of their time. I was told I'd be moving to the next round, then just got a generic email. I think the interviewers could definitely use some training on manners, diversity and inclusion, and how to hire people these days. Don't say you'll move forward if you're not serious about it. As someone from several under-represented groups in tech, I felt belittled throughout. I would never apply or even consider their product again.
