I went through a hiring process that had a few parts. First, a phone call, about 30-35 mins, just a basic screen about my background, why I want the job, and if I had the tech skills. Then, I talked to the Business Manager for the specific BU the job was in. We discussed my technical skills and if I'd fit into the team and help with their projects. After that, I had to put together and send a skills portfolio, filling out detailed tech and skills sheets, so they could place me on a specific project. The last step was a final meeting with the client to make sure I was a good fit for what they needed on their project.

At Vulcain Engineering, the hiring path for a junior business manager or consultant usually goes like this: First, a phone screening with HR to check basic stuff like your CV details, motivation, availability, language skills, and salary expectations, lasting about 15-30 minutes. Then, a more in-depth HR interview to gauge your personality, soft skills, if you fit the company values, and if you understand the business manager role (which is mostly about sales, hiring, and managing consultants). They're looking for clear communication, enthusiasm for entrepreneurial tasks, and the ability to handle consultants and client accounts. After that, you'll meet with a manager to test your sales skills, thoroughness, and how well you envision yourself as a project or business manager. This might involve role-playing, practical exercises, handling client objections, and assessing your network. Sometimes, there's a technical interview, especially for roles needing engineering or technical knowledge (like technical sales engineers or consultants), focusing on specific industry skills (energy, nuclear, etc.). Finally, a meeting with management, often more strategic or about the final decision. They might discuss broader career goals and long-term vision. If everything looks good, you'll get a quick job offer and sign the contract within a few days.
