IT Project Manager
The process started with an initial meeting with the hiring manager, focused on understanding my profile, motivations, and previous experiences. Then, I was invited to take logic and personality tests to assess my analytical reasoning and fit with the company environment. After that stage, I participated in the final interview, which delved deeper into technical, behavioral, and alignment topics with the company values and the position's challenges.
- How do you define being agile in practice and what does that mean in your daily work?
- How do you usually handle conflicts within the team or among stakeholders? Can you provide an example?
Project Manager
The hiring process was quite thorough, involving four distinct stages. It kicked off with an initial screening interview conducted by HR. This was followed by a test. After the test, there was another interview with HR to go over the results of the test. Finally, the process concluded with an interview with the hiring managers who would be directly supervising the role.
- Can you share details about your past experience?
- Could you describe a challenging situation and how you navigated it?
Project Leader
I was contacted via email about an onsite interview, with no prior phone calls. I had to show my COVID vaccination card, which was unexpected. The onsite was a panel interview using the STAR method with standardized questions for all candidates. I got a verbal offer, but the details about benefits were unclear. Initially, I was told it was union with 40 hours of PTO, but after I questioned it due to the 7+ years of experience requirement, she changed it to 29 days of PTO. The salary was also lower than I expected. She was supposed to follow up with her team about the salary, but I never heard back after leaving two voicemails. I contacted someone else and finally got a response. They still couldn't confirm if it was union and claimed the position was entry-level, despite being an office role requiring 7+ years of experience. I declined because of the low salary and the lack of clear information on the role and benefits.
- Can you share an instance where you navigated working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds?
