The interview was pretty straightforward, involving a small case study followed by some personal questions. It felt easier compared to similar consulting roles. They asked general interview questions along with some specific to cost-benefit analysis.

I applied in October and had an interview in March. I received a conditional offer in April, and then completed background checks, fingerprinting, and general HR paperwork. I started in May. The whole process was pretty easy but took a while. I'm not sure if having people vouch for me and how quickly they responded to surveys or calls sped up the background check. All my references were contacted. I wasn't reimbursed for the fingerprints, but it's not a big deal considering the overall salary. The starting salary depends on your education and relevant past experience or skills.

It's a government process with an HR screening first, then interviews once you're approved for meeting requirements. You must word-match your resume to the job post to get through screening. HR isn't subject matter knowledgeable, so don't expect any interpretation or benefit of the doubt.

Lots of people interviewed. Some technical transportation questions but not many. Mostly situational questions and people seemed engaged and interested in learning more about my background. Overall a really good interview experience.
