The interview process for the Marketing Manager role at Vital Source took about two months. I had several calls with HR. I interviewed with three leaders on the team, and then there was a surprise project at the end where I had to present in 45 minutes to two of those same leaders.

A recruiter from VST's parent company reached out, and they were upfront about the role, company, and benefits, which I appreciated. Subsequent interviews were a mix of Zoom and in-office, with participants both local and remote, including the Director, Team Lead, CTO, and other engineers. The main challenge was scheduling, as it took four separate sessions over four weeks. After the final in-office interview, there were no clear next steps, and I haven't heard back after three weeks. VST seems to be on the right track with their processes and values, especially as they aim to scale their systems. It's clear they use Ruby on Rails extensively and plan to continue doing so, so experienced engineers are definitely encouraged to apply.
