I had a phone screen first, then an in-person interview at the Chicago office in the west loop. The in-person interview involved meeting with three different people or groups. Overall, the process was pretty standard. The only odd thing was when I first got there, the receptionist was not very welcoming and ignored me for about three minutes even though no one else was around.

I had a first phone chat with a team member. She sounded super shy and didn't react much to what I said. It felt like she wanted me to keep talking even after I answered, creating awkward silence between questions. I talked about the job and my background, and I think I nailed every question, showing my experience was a perfect match for the job description. When I asked my questions, she got flustered and couldn't explain growth opportunities, just saying, "Uh, I don't know, we haven't gotten there yet." Later, I got a simple email saying I wasn't qualified enough, even for an entry-level role I felt qualified for.

The hiring process was pretty slow. It started with a phone screen, and we were supposed to have some in-person meetings, but the team's schedule never lined up. So, I ended up having a Skype call with the hiring manager, which was awesome and I really liked her! After that, I didn't hear anything back. I reached out to the recruiter but got no reply. I would have loved to work there, but the interview process felt a bit chaotic, and I think it's important for recruiters to at least follow up with candidates, even if they aren't moving forward.

The phone screen interviewer was super nice and asked good questions. Then, I met with Courtney and Emily for the in-person interview and they were great too! We had a lot of fun and talked about a bunch of stuff. I got an offer in about a week after applying online. I didn't accept because I misunderstood the hours, pay, and benefits. Overall, it was a really positive experience.
