Started with a recruiter call, then I had to submit my portfolio/writing samples. After that, I had a phone screen, and then I interviewed with the hiring manager. I didn't hear back for a few days, so I followed up with the recruiter about an update. The recruiter said I'd hear back by Monday. I never did. I waited a bit longer, but ultimately, I never got a response.

Had a 30 min phone screen with the internal recruiter. They asked about my past projects and how my team was structured. I talked about the size of my team and where they are located. We also touched on project team oversight, my experience as a Scrum Master, a bit about the lending business domain, and how I keep teams updated on goals, priorities, and plans.

So the interview process was kinda messy because of the recruiter, but the people I actually interviewed with were great. If I had to rate it just based on the recruiter, it'd be 1 star, she was awful. But the interviews themselves and the people were awesome, so overall I'd say 4 out of 5. There were 5 interviews total, even though the recruiter said there would only be 2-3 more. First was a phone screen with the recruiter, but she never confirmed or sent an invite, and then she was 10 minutes late without any heads-up, so we had to reschedule. Then I had an interview with the Hiring Manager, which was a great chat, very down-to-earth and transparent. After that, I interviewed with a Director. Then there was a 'Colleague interview,' which was more like a meet and greet, and I was told that was the final one. But then there was this super random Cross functional Manager interview, it felt like maybe they wanted me for their open role but forgot to mention it or ask if I was even interested. All through this, I'd email the recruiter with questions, and she'd just ignore them, only scheduling the next interview. When it came time for the offer, she called to extend it, but they'd already hired for the next month, so they gave me a start date two months out. I mentioned that might be tough and I wasn't sure. She said she'd send the offer that evening, but she NEVER did, and then she told the manager I wasn't interested.

The interview process involved several 1-on-1s: first with the hiring manager to chat about the company and my resumé, then with an Architect for a more technical discussion. There was another 1-on-1 with a different hiring manager due to a reorg. Later, I met with a lead and a product owner to assess team fit. Finally, I had a 1-on-1 with HR about culture. Everyone was nice to talk to and the interviews went well. They were also helpful in speeding things up when I mentioned my timeline. A company reorg happened mid-process, so I had to talk to the hiring manager again. One interview got cut short because of a hard stop due to the faster schedule.
