So the interview process included three rounds. First, I had an initial phone screen with the recruiter. Then, there was a more detailed interview that was also over the phone. Finally, I had an in-person round where I did behavioral interviews and met with four current employees.

First, I had a call with a recruiter who wasn't very friendly. Then, I did a case interview with one of the hiring managers. He was great and got me more excited about the role. The case study was McKinsey style. Next, I had another case interview with a different hiring manager. This one was tougher: I had to look at a spreadsheet on a screenshare and figure out why the portfolio company wasn't growing, followed by a quant problem. I was told I would move on to a final round discussing culture, but instead, I received a rejection email. I'm okay with not being a fit, but it's frustrating to get your hopes up and then get an automated rejection. The recruiter's rudeness throughout the process was also a major issue.

Behavioral Technical

I found the role through a recruitment agency. The initial stages went really well. They felt my profile was a strong match for the position. After two phone calls, they seemed to think I was a good fit and I even passed a logic test. However, I was told I wouldn't be moving forward to an onsite interview because my accent was considered too strong, even though the job was remote. One of the interviewers mentioned this directly to the recruiter. It was disappointing because I felt they were using this as an excuse to not proceed, especially since I know they were short-staffed and my profile was a very close match. I was initially impressed with the company, but this was a real shock. I offered to work on my accent, but I never heard back. It makes me question the company's values if they prioritize accent over qualifications.

Had a quick chat with HR, then took the CCAT test. Spent two days getting ready for it and passed. After that, there were seven interviews, some over the phone and some in person. The people interviewing me were sharp, nice, and really enthusiastic about VCG. It was a really long and draining process. Super frustrating to not get an offer after putting in so many hours. Plus, there were a lot of delays and mixed messages along the way.
