First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at VisionPoint Marketing.
Director
The interview process was pretty straightforward. It involved four rounds, starting with an HR screen. Everyone I spoke with was pleasant, and I had a good experience until the final step with the CEO. I was severely unimpressed with her. I asked her four distinct questions about the company, and she stumbled and rambled without actually answering them. It was so bad, I remember thinking it was a good thing she wasn't the one being interviewed for the job. She seemed much more comfortable being in control and asking questions. Her questions felt tone-deaf and lacked real intention beyond trying to get ideas from you. I didn't like her energy and I'm sure I would not have enjoyed working long-term with this company.
- What led to your layoffs in your previous two positions?
Marketing Strategist
I had a lot of interviews with about 10 people over 2 weeks. The questions were pretty standard. I talked one-on-one with who I thought was the hiring manager, and it was a good talk. They asked if I was still interested, and I said yes. I felt like I was going to get an offer, and they said HR would reach out. After that, I interviewed with two other leaders. Two weeks went by, and nobody contacted me. I ended up emailing the HR person who recruited me to ask what was up. They apologized, said they were swamped, and assumed I was still being considered. I get that things are crazy with COVID, but I expect better professionalism. I spent about 7 hours prepping and interviewing, which took away from other job applications. They also contacted and spoke to my references. I thought this was a serious job and I was really interested, but now I'm not so sure. I'm sharing this feedback for others who might get recruited by them.
- Tell me about a project that didn't go as planned.
Web Developer
We kicked things off with a phone screen, then I had an in-person meeting one-on-one with the CEO. After that, I took an assessment test from home, and finally, there was a group panel interview with my potential colleagues. They were really thorough, making sure they weren't hiring someone inexperienced or a bad cultural fit. I was super impressed with how much they emphasized work/life balance, and they genuinely seemed interested in my personality and communication skills, not just the technical stuff. It was the most thorough interview process I've ever been through. Challenging but rewarding, I felt like I gained a lot and would be better prepared for future interviews, regardless of the outcome.
- What is your experience level with WordPress and Drupal?
Digital Marketing Specialist
I had a phone interview that was about 15-20 minutes with the office manager. This then led to an in-person interview on site. However, when I arrived for the in-person interview, the door was locked and no one was there. I called over 5 times and didn't get a response back from anyone until 45 minutes later, after I had already left. Apparently, I was at the old office. The address was listed on their Google Business account and came up on Google Maps. It's also annoying that their phone number automatically goes to voicemail if you don't know the extension, and none of the employees I emailed had proper signatures with their contact information.
