Customer Service Representative
It was easy and simple. The interviewer was professional and asked mostly relevant questions, including quick role plays. The interviewer role played 3 to 5 different situations.
- What feelings are important in a customer service role?
Product Manager
Before my interview, I checked out employee reviews and saw they have a high turnover rate. One of the interviews included a panel of executives, and the CFO was the most vocal. It was strange to have a CFO interviewing for a role that requires strategic vision, as it seemed like he didn't really grasp what a Product Manager does. Everyone had their own ideas about the product, and I feel for whoever takes this job, as it sounds like it'll be a constant struggle. The CEO seems like a good person, but the others are opinionated and appear to be angry yes-men. It doesn't seem like a great organization overall. Anyway, I'll move on from that.
- So, how do you generate your product ideas? Do they just pop into your head when you wake up?
Business Analyst
I had five interviews in total: two phone calls with the recruiter, then one with the hiring manager, then another with an employee on the project, and finally a panel interview with the client that the project was for. The recruiter was really helpful. My problem isn't that I didn't get an offer, but the communication afterwards. It took two weeks after my 1:1 with the hiring manager to hear back that I didn't get the position. Then, a month and a half later, the recruiter called again saying they were still interested and set up another phone interview with a VisionIT employee. After that, I interviewed with the client VisionIT was working with. Weeks after that last interview, I tried contacting VisionIT multiple times with no reply. I found out the recruiter had been fired. The hiring manager and the other VisionIT employee never responded either. Companies should really send denial emails, even if they're just templates. People who have bad communication experiences will tell others about it. Forward-thinking companies always keep communication open, even when they decide not to move forward with candidates. I won't consider VisionIT again after this.
- Regarding agile systems, it's said you can achieve speed, low cost, and high quality; which two would you prioritize?
Account Manager
I interviewed in-person with the manager and their management team after an initial phone interview with the manager. The phone interview was really engaging and felt like a solid fit. However, the interview with the management team was less dynamic and not as lively or engaging. It seems senior management had a different agenda for the position and location than the manager did. As a result, I didn't get an offer.
- Can you outline your sales strategy for your marketplace?
- What sales tactics would you use to implement that strategy?
