Continuous Improvement Coordinator
First, there was a 10-minute phone call where we discussed my salary expectations and when I could start. After that, the production manager interviewed me via Teams. Once that interview was complete, they invited me to continue with the hiring process.
- Can you tell me about your experience relevant to this role?
- What is your availability for work?
- Have you managed projects before?
Analyst
The hiring process was a bit unusual for me. I was interviewed by two HR managers plus the hiring manager for the position. They asked quite direct questions, often requiring me to take a clear stance on situations. On the plus side, they were very upfront about the role's current status, although I did notice some inconsistencies in the questions and answers.
- How would you handle high-pressure situations?
- Are you more process-oriented or commercially focused?
Quality Control Analyst
I applied via a recruiter and had a phone interview with the department manager. This led to an in-person meeting with the manager, a QC supervisor, and an HR manager. They all had my resume, application, and a list of job duties with questions. We started with behavioral questions, like asking for examples of how I've handled situations or how I learn. Then, there were some job-specific questions about lab processes and chemistry. They wanted me to ask at least three or four thoughtful questions before they'd proceed. After that, I got a tour of the plant and labs and met some key people. I sent a thank-you email, and two days later, HR gave me a conditional job offer with details for a pre-employment physical, which included a drug screen, hearing/vision tests, blood work, urine test, EKG, and a doctor's interview. There was also an occupational therapy test involving lifting a 50 lb box multiple times, pushing a 200 lb cart, and similar physical tasks. Once all those results were good, HR called the next day to schedule my start date for orientation and training on BRC and OSHA guidelines before I started the work rotation. The whole interview and hiring process was thorough but pretty straightforward.
- How would you resolve a conflict between two employees?
Buyer
The online interview took about 30 minutes. There were no situational questions, mostly just questions about keyword definitions. The hiring manager was engaging and the whole process was smooth.
