It was a good experience overall, but I didn't get an offer. There were three rounds of phone screening, then I met with the directors and the hiring manager. They asked basic questions, nothing out of the ordinary.

You'll start with a phone interview, then move to a panel interview. This panel interview is a chance to be considered for multiple open positions. For the LC2 role, you need to have a good understanding of the company, its origins, and the specific role you're applying for. Prior finance or banking experience is essential. Note that entry-level positions aren't always available here.

It was pretty disorganized and dragged on for way too long. Started with a call from a lady who had me fill out the application. The next day, someone else called about a different job in another city. I had an interview with the manager that week. The manager was chill and asked stuff related to my background. They even tested me on my last company's work because it's not a common one like Shell or Walmart. Then I met 3 of my potential coworkers. They were relaxed, but one didn't really look at my resume and questioned my job history, even though two of them were just short internships. Another asked about my accounting classes, and then drilled me on how many courses the university offers in accounting, despite my degree being right there! A couple of weeks later, I got an email saying I was denied for a job I never even applied for. So, I figured Virtus just wasn't interested. About a month after that, I got an email about a background check, which I agreed to. The background check company had trouble verifying my pay from past jobs and internships, so I had to send extra documents straight to Virtus. This took another three weeks. After sending everything and following up by phone and email about anything important, HR never called back, so I emailed. It's worth noting that when I did speak with HR about a month prior, they were quiet and a bit rude. All that said, about two days after the last email, I got a 'thanks but no thanks' message. It's wild that this whole thing took 3 months – 1 month for interviews and 2 months for the background check. You'd think if you wanted someone, you'd want them to start sooner. Why pay for a background check if it comes back clean and you still don't want them? Mine was clear, and if anything was fishy, they would have called to ask. The whole experience was super messy and a letdown.

I was first contacted by HR and had to complete an application before they would schedule an interview. The interview itself was with two managers, a male and a female. They were dressed very casually, which was a bit surprising given the business professional environment I'm used to. One wore a polo shirt and the other jeans. I got the impression it might not be a good fit, as it seemed like there was a high turnover rate. The employees didn't look professionally dressed and seemed to spend more time chatting and watching TV (ESPN) than working.
